This information should be provided in a written format (200 words or less).
This prompt offers an opportunity to address elements of one’s application that require explanation (. choice of recommender, a semester of poor undergraduate performance), and may also be an opportunity to share important information that isn’t captured elsewhere in one’s written materials.
Otherwise, I second “grad student”. I received a scholarship to attend a top state school and enjoyed being able to dabble in other subjects that were tangential to my field of study, but subjects that I still found intriguing. Being able to sample a math, stat, or physics course outside my major of engineering was refreshing – even more so in a modern dance or language class. My recommendation is look at what will allow you the most freedom. If I had been forced to pay for all those classes, it would most likely have curtailed my curiosity. Also, it allowed me to figure out what I really wanted to specialize in for graduate school.
