As a TRiO participant, qualifying by being both a first generation and a low-income university student, time and resources are limited thereby making them extremely precious and important. Receiving a scholarship like the MAEOPP would afford me more workable time in pursuing my academic purpose. The added stress, created from worrying about how basic expenses will be paid, would be lifted. The support of a scholarship would allow me to continue to pursue not just core academic classes, but also afford me the opportunity to participate more fully in as well as share my attained skill set with those both on campus and in the community.
