While most accelerated programs rely on students taking accelerated courses in order to quicken the pace of their degree, it’s not necessarily required at all programs. If you enroll in a program that only offers 8 week (or less) courses, then you’ll be required to take accelerated courses. If your program offers 16 week courses, though, you won’t necessarily have to take accelerated courses. Without accelerated courses, though, it will be difficult to really quicken the pace of your degree. The only way you could do this would be by coming into the program with a lot of transfer credits.
